#55 A Fishing Set, A Frog, Two Rabbits & A Feast Of Magnetic Food

This fishing set from Dentdelion on Etsy is made from upcycled wool sweaters, vintage fabric, yarn, canvas & eco-fi felt. The are 4 creatures to catch - an eel, a starfish, a jellyfish & a puffer fish, each is stuffed with wool & holds a magnet which is sewn closed in a pouch then sewn securely to the inside of the fish.
The fishing rod is made of oak, hemp twine & efo-fi felt, the magnet is sewn securely inside the hook.

This frog is made from an upcycled cashmere sweater & eco-fi felt.
It is sewn entirely with eco- friendly thread & embroidery floss, the stuffing is natural Kapok fiber which is derived from seed pods of the Ceiba tree.
Did I mention it's pretty excellent? Look at those feet...

These bunny rattle/teether's are made from bamboo/organic cotton fleece & the faces are eco- fi felt.
They also each contain metal bells to make them rattle.Stuffed with 100% PLA fiber - which is made from corn... Loving these earth friendly options! I also love pretty much anything made from a bamboo blend, it's so deliciously soft. Perfect for baby toys.

The ice cream cone set comes with a waffle cone & with one scoop of chocolate, one scoop of mint ice cream. This set is & all the remaining pictured creations are made of eco-fi felt, with any stuffing used 100% PLA fiber.
The cone & the ice cream scoops all have magnets sewn securely inside them to keep the ice cream in the cone.
How clever is that. I'm mighty impressed!

This slice-able apple & pear set has canvas lining the inner sides to help them maintain their shape, magnets are sewn safely inside each half to hold them together... ready to be sliced apart again by little hands.

I am just loving the use of magnets as an alternative to velcro, it seems to me that they will last a lot longer, both because there is no chance of them detaching as there is with velcro after lots of love & it also eliminates the wear & tear caused by velcro. Both to that toy & others it comes in contact with.
Dentdelion also makes all these toys in a pet & smoke free environment, which for allergy sufferers is good to know & I certainly prefer my purchases smoke free!

#16 Cards Cards Cards!

I am a card hoarder.

I have a rather strong dislike for bad/cheesy cards but boy do I love a good'n!
If I see a nice card, even if there is no card-able occasion on the near horizon, I have to get it.
You know, just in case?
Actually this does often lead to me forgetting that I do have, for example, 3 cards already put aside for great aunt Esmeralda's birthday... But can you ever really have too many cards? Nah.
If the situation becomes desperate & you find yourself drowning in beautiful paperworks, well what better excuse to tell someone you love how much they mean to you? For no reason other than that you should do it more often.

By the way, I don't really have a great aunt Esmerelda. Wishing I did?

I'm especially fond of stencil cut cards at the moment.
At the Victoria Markets in Melbourne there is a stand that sells absolutely stunning stencil cut/pop up cards & when we lived there they were a firm favourite of mine.

It can be hard to find a nice card, & most of the time you can count newsagencys out. Although I will concede there can be the odd exception.
I feel it's very important to scope out a reliable beautiful card seller, when we move house I find the local supermarket & my nearest supplier of card loveliness. Can't be getting caught out!

Here's a couple of cute cards that I found on Etsy at Lama Works...

I like the frog the most, because I love frogs!
I thought these 3 would be especially great cards for kids but there are cards of all kinds in the Lama Works shop.

These cards are ridiculously cheap at $2.50(us) & as a percentage of each sale is donated to the American Cancer Society Charity you can feel even better about buying them in bulk to hoard for that special occasion that is undoubtedly just around the corner... right? ;)
