#66 Growing An Eggling Garden

An Eggling looks like an extra large egg, it is hand made from white porous ceramic so it feels like one too!
It sits in a little terracotta tray & seeds are pre sewn into it's fortified peat mixture, all you have to do is tap it's top with a spoon to crack it open, water it & place it somewhere sunny!
There are ten different varieties including three herbs (basil, mint & thyme), three flowers (chrysanthemum, phlox, petunia) & four special edition plants (lavender, cactus, red pepper & wild strawberry).

What a super cute way for children to be introduced to gardening & it doesn't hurt that they are also pretty easy on the eye!

Who knows, maybe I will even have another go at keeping a plant alive ...

They come in a cotton drawstring carrying pouch & have an option of being personalised with a name, as shown on the camera below.
Not be be outdone by the teether's look at these, which may very well be THE most awesome blocks in the world...

These ridiculously excellent cameras are made from Maple & Walnut,  finished with beeswax & jojoba oil.
Complete with viewfinder, spinning selector 'switch', a lens that turns to "focus" & a contrasting digital screen on the back they are obviously perfect for the serious young photographer!
Or *ahem* a not so young one?

Little Sapling Toys also have a blog, that so far I am really enjoying!
As if I didn't already think they were wonderful beyond belief? They plant a tree for every toy sold.

#52 Sew Liberated

For a while now I've been a follower of Meg McElwee's blog Sew Liberated, I check in every now & then to dream of having talent such as hers & resolve to buy one of her books & give it a go! I do need to stop waiting for my local fabric store to get in more copies & just order it via her website.
This is the pattern that took me to Sew Liberated in the beginning & made me an instant fan, the sweet pea pilot cap modeled by her very cute first-born Finn.

Since then I've fallen in love with the huck finn hat...

this oh so cute apron...

this very comfy looking mei tai baby carrier...

This embroidered placemat & these fabric number cards. Sweet much?

Those things & a billion others. Plus, I'm just in awe of her really. Once you've seen her blog you'll understand why!
Meg's original book of 20 sewing projects is called Sew Liberated & signed copies from her website cost $21.95. Now I'm no maths genius, but I'm fairly certain that means that you would be paying just over $1 per marvelous pattern?
The second book Growing Up Sew Liberated is due out on June 14th & costs a whole $1 more than the first... That's enough maths for me for one day though.

I want that teepee....

#33 What? Wood Again?

Clearly I love wooden toys.
There is really no point in denying that.
But seriously... Can you blame me?

& don't you just love the sneaky education of this leaf puzzle? hehe!
